Ekkamai sits at BTS station E7, on Sukhumvit Soi 63. It is the most predictable area on the corridor for arrival, because it is far enough east that the Asok congestion never reaches it and the through traffic thins considerably past Thonglor.
Soi 63 runs a long way north, like Thonglor does, and the same rule applies: the building name is more useful than the soi number, because the top and the bottom are a long way apart.
The Eastern Bus Terminal sits by the station, which creates a pocket of traffic right at the mouth of the soi in the late afternoon. It clears quickly and it does not affect anything further up.
Buildings here run a mix of older low-rise apartments and newer towers. The older ones often have no front desk at all, which makes arrival faster, and the newer ones behave like the rest of the corridor.
